This week on The Unlikely Catholic Podcast, we are joined by Chris Reibold, known as the “Saint Story Guy.” Together, we explore the persecution of the Catholic Church throughout history, with a special focus on the Cristero War—a violent struggle against the Church in early 20th-century Mexico, particularly in the central and western regions of the country. We discuss what led to the conflict, the courage of those who defended their faith, and why the story of the Cristeros still resonates with Catholics today.

This week, Chris and Steve welcome Mike Aquilina, award-winning author of more than seventy books on Catholic history, doctrine, and devotion. This week, Steve and Chris interview Stephen Pishner.   A lifelong catholic but with a very interesting story.  Stephen holds a Bachelors in Music Education with an emphasis in Pipe Organ.  He is the Director of Music and Liturgy at All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport WV and is a published composer with G.I.A. Publications Inc., Chicago Ill.  He has composed numerous liturgical songs.  His piece "God Will Wipe the Tears", published by GIA Publications, Inc, was included in 2008 on the memorial recording entitled "Voice of Hope" done shortly after the Virginia Tech Shooting.  He is also a strong advocate, and helping with the process, for sainthood for Fr.
